My research covers a wide range of topics in evolutionary ecology at different levels of organization and time scales. I study the interactions between individual behaviour, the theory of life histories and population dynamics. I combine theory with long-term monitoring of marked individuals. I put an emphasis on comparative analysis, including patterns of senescence and physiological and experimental studies on growth, development and parental care. I also work on the development of analytical methods for the behaviour of pollutants in nature and use of living organisms as bioindicators.
