I am a conservation biologist living in Marburg, Germany having worked in several research and bird banding projects since 2011.
With a growing interest in natural history, particularly ornithology I simultaneously developed a passion for nature photography (christianhoefs.de)
Since I first came to Ammarnäs in 2013 I couldn´t get it out of my head anymore: being in this pristine landscape surrounded by the numerous dreambirds roaming through the tundra in amazing light conditions. I knew I had to come back. Today I visit Ammarnäs for every field work season participating in different survey and research projects.
Tim and I have started a colour-ringing project on the Eurasian Dotterel in 2018 as the basement for further geo-tagging and habitat studies.
